ANEMONE LEVEILLEI BLUE CROWN ANEMONE WINDFLOWER NECTAR RICH FLOWERS $2.50

AMAZING IN DRIFTS IN A WOODLAND SETTING! THIS EASY TO CARE FOR PLANT IS A MEMBER OF THE RUNUNCULUS FAMILY. ALSO CALLED THE WINDFLOWER AND THE BLUE CROWN ANEMONE.

A pretty mounding plant that has white/pink flowers with a central cluster of purple and blue anthers. This one looks amazing in large groups and prefers moist and rich soils. It is happy in pots and will form a mound of lightly furred leaves with the flowers held above.

Grow Notes
Prefers part sun, dappled light or full sun with some protection in the late afternoon in hot areas. Mulch each year and plant in well-draining rich soil.

Sow
The seeds will benefit from being put in the fridge first for as long as you can manage. Put them in some damp compost in a closed ziploc bag and on the normal shelf of the fridge (not the crisper). They need a good cold snap to break dormancy. Three months is good but up to several months is ok. If you don’t wish to do that then plant right away in rich, moist soil in a pot. Put the pot in a cool shady place and wait. Keep the seed tray moist in a cold greenhouse or shady corner. These fresh seeds can be very slow to germinate. Do not use any artificial heat in an attempt to germinate them as it may cause them to enter even deeper dormancy.

Keep soil moist, not wet.
