Grow Notes
Canterbury Bells plants need a well-drained soil enriched with plenty of organic matter in a partly shaded position

Keep the soil moist, but not wet.

Protect from snails, slugs, and aphids while young.

Sow
Sow direct or raise seedlings in Spring and Autumn at a depth of 3mm and 30cm spacing. Canterbury Bells seeds can also be sown via the ‘scatter seed’ method. Simply roughen the soil, scatter seeds, then lightly cover the seeds with soil.

The seeds are quite small so you may prefer to mix with sand or find potting mix to help with sowing.

Germination
14-21 days at 18-22°C

Maturity
160 days. Flowering occurs in first year in warmer climates but may not occur until the second year in cooler ones. Self-seeding, Biennial plant.
