Description
Known for its unusual taste and appearance is ‘Indian Cream Cobra’ melon. This unique variety, grows fruit that is shaped much like a cucumber. Its yellow/white skin is ribbed and when split open, resembles a “cobra” snake head. Its pinkish flesh is dry and has a nice aroma and a delicious taste. This melon is well suited for adding flavour to home-made ice cream, for fruit salad or enjoyed with regular ice cream and honey. Maturity in 70-90 days.

Grow Notes
Plant in full sun, keep soil moist, water roots not the leaves to prevent mildew. Likes rich well drained soil, though not heavily fertilized, add lime if needed to obtain pH of 6.5. Keep moist.

Sow
Can sow direct in Spring or early Summer. For earlier planting in cooler climates raise in pots in warm conditions and transplant after 3-4 weeks. Sow seeds 20mm deep and 1m apart.

Keep soil moist not wet.

6-10 days at 18-20°C

Maturity
15-20 weeks. Melons are ripe when the stem turns brown.
