Description
Slow to bolt and tolerant of heat, cold, and poor soil. Non-heading plants grow 2-3 feet tall with large cabbage-like blue-green leaves that are tender, mild, and juicy no matter how big the leaves get!

Heirloom American collard green variety from 1800?s producing large open heads up to 80cm diameter. This traditional variety produces large thick sweet cabbage flavoured leaves which are eaten cooked; usually steamed or boiled or stir-fried.

In Georgia USA there are huge farms dedicated to growing Georgia Southern Collard Greens, such is the love for these delicious veggies!

Grow Notes
Plant in full sun, with well-draining soil. Slow to bolt variety that is heat and frost tolerant.

May need protection from aphids and caterpillars.

Sow
Sow direct or raise seedlings in Autumn and late Summer, planting at a depth of 6mm with 100cm spacing.

Keep soil moist but never wet.
