Drought tolerant once established. Frost or cold weather can make it go dormant or appear to die, but it may reshoot from roots the following Spring/early Summer.

Sow
Sow direct or raise seedlings in deep pots (long taproots) in Spring to early Summer. Dig a hole about a 30cm deep and wide to loosen the soil well, then back fill with compost and soil. Plant 3 to 5 seeds in each hole, 12cm, about 2cm deep. Cover with soil and water in.

Water the seed once a day until it begins to sprout. At this point you only need to water the sprout every other day just until the topsoil has been nicely moistened. If in pots, place in the sun.
