Do I have to check out right away?

Unlike our old Facebook sales we’re now a fully fledged ecommerce store, so your order is guaranteed once you check out. Remember, if you don’t check out and pay when you’re finished shopping you may lose out on your purchase if other customers check out before you.

Are you located in Australia?

Yes! We’re located in the Perth metro area of Western Australia and we post Australia wide!

What are your postage times and costs?

Orders are generally processed and dispatched within 1 to 5 business days after we receive your payment. Orders that include live bulbs are dispatched between Monday and Wednesday so they’re not held by postal services over the weekends. If there’s a public holiday we’ll also time the postage so your orders aren’t sitting in a mail centre or post box for too long.

Standard delivery times are up to 10 business days depending on the destination. If your order hasn’t arrived by then, check with your local post office and let us know if they can’t locate them.

Delivery costs vary depending on the amount you buy, but our standard rate of $5.95 includes postage and handling. You also have the option to add registration (which includes tracking).

And don’t forget, every time you buy from us you’ll get a free packet of seeds no matter how much you spend. Spend more than $25 and you’ll get even more free gifts!

Do you have a shop I can visit to buy your seeds?

Not at this stage, but Wendy’s Garden online has everything you need and helps keep our prices low!

Are your prices in Australian dollars?

Yes, all prices are in Aussie dollars and include GST.

Is it true all your seeds are packed by hand?

Absolutely. Wendy’s Garden is a boutique enterprise and we believe each seed is precious, so we process and pack each packet of seeds lovingly by hand, making sure they’re happy and healthy so you get your order in pristine condition!

Do you guarantee germination?

We test all our varieties before we sell them to make sure they’re high quality and germinate well in the right conditions, but because everyone has varying levels of experience as well as different climates, soils and watering schedules we can’t guarantee germination.

When it comes to most seeds, you should be fine as long as you follow some basic principles like these. But some rare seeds need extra care and certain conditions to grow well. Some can even be challenging but that is where the internet can help!

There are lots of resources online from Google to specialist garden websites, and you can always come to the Facebook page where Wendy’s Garden began, a community for lively and informative discussions and tips.

We don’t generally include growing instructions with your purchase as we sell all over Australia and climates, soils and conditions will differ, but the internet will have all the up-to-date information for your area.

Can I request a special order?

You sure can! Just go to the Contact Us page or email admin@wendysgarden.com.au to ask us to find a specific variety for you. If we can source them we’ll let you know a price and when they’re likely to arrive – you won’t have to pay for them until they’re ready to post out to you.

We also love recommendations from customers and friends, so let us know about a seed variety you think we should have and we’ll get it in for one of our next sales.

Do you sell other products?

Along with our seeds you’ll love our range of garden related products, from garden inspired jewellery to seed planters, toys and fruit bags!

Depending on the season we also sell turmeric corms, spring and summer bulbs and garlic. Please note we don’t sell live plants or seedlings.

Do you offer advice or recommendations?

It’s difficult to give advice because everyone’s local garden conditions and climates are different, but we recommend researching the variety you’re interested in online before you buy.

As always, our Facebook page is a great place to join a thriving community of enthusiasts from beginners to experts who are only too happy to help, and Wendy herself is a very active participant.

Do you source from non-commercial seed savers?

We sure do! A lot of our seeds come from local gardeners with specialist varieties, truly heirloom! If there’s a seed you’d like to see in our sales or you harvest some you think we might like, get in touch through our contact page or email admin@wendysgarden.com.au

Do you offer credit, C.O.D, or accounts?

At the moment all orders must be paid in full when you check out before we can put your order in the mail. We accept payment via credit card, bank deposit and Paypal.

Are your seeds allowed in my state or territory?

If you’re located in Western Australia like we are, all our seed varieties are cleared for purchase and shipping. We cannot currently send any seeds/bulbs/corms or live products to Tasmania.

If you’re elsewhere in Australia check with your local Department of Agriculture office. Some plants are considered to have weed potential in certain areas so check whether the seed you want is allowed in your state or territory.

To put it a little bit more legally, under consumer law it’s the sole responsibility of the purchaser to ascertain and abide by any laws applying to the possession and cultivation of any items listed on our website. Wendy’s Garden Pty Ltd cannot be held responsible if customs or similar agencies confiscate seeds. All import duties, taxes and fees, if any, are to be paid by the customer.

What seeds can I import from overseas?

The Australian Department of Agriculture has a handy website called BICON that has a database of seed varieties cleared for import into Australia. Just click the link, scroll down to the letter you need to search for (all seeds are under their Latin names), and if the seed you’re interested in isn’t listed it’s unfortunately not cleared for import.

The Department also has a dedicated page on its website that lists publications about seeds that are permitted or prohibited

Can you supply a phytosanitary certificate so I can take or send seeds overseas?

We pride ourselves on our low prices, and documentation to cover customs regulations and import requirements for your overseas travel would only add to them, so we can’t help you with this at the moment.

Make sure you research the customs regulations of each country you intend to visit, and comply with local laws at all times.

Something on the site isn't working, what do I do?

Get in touch and let us know from the contact page or by emailing admin@wendysgarden.com.au. Include as much detail as you can, what you were doing when it happened, the page it happened on and what it looked like or did (by all means send a screenshot if you can).

We appreciate the help. If we confirm there was a glitch and we get it fixed thanks to your input we’ll send you a gift or store credit to say thanks!

What if something's wrong and I'd like a refund?

If you change your mind or ordered incorrectly we unfortunately can’t give refunds on seeds, live bulbs or corms due to their perishable nature. But we’ll happily issue a refund on all other purchases if you send them back to us at your expense within 7 days of receiving your order if they’re original and undamaged.

If your purchase was faulty or you think you’ve received the wrong seed variety, you have a couple of choices – a replacement free of charge, a store credit or a refund for your purchase price plus reasonable postage costs.

How do you reduce your environmental impact?

We use recycled paper, cardboard and plastic in everyday office tasks, we print with a minimum of ink and we pack in reusable ziplock bags that have very little printing and labelling.

When we’re packing your order we also bundle packs together in special ‘blocks’. Packets of different sizes nestle comfortably together and protect each other, which removes the need for bubble wrap so your seeds will still reach you in great condition. What’s more, you can easily recycle our packaging materials yourself when your order arrives.

Sorry, we cannot currently send any seeds/bulbs/corms to Tasmania. We can send non live items such as merchandise, garden tools, etc.
