Kang kong is closely related to sweet potato as well as to ‘morning glory’. It is an extremely popular and common vegetable in many parts of south-east Asia. Kang Kong prefers wet areas and is often found growing along boggy streams and areas.

Grow Notes
Prefers full sun, best grown in a container of water in waterlogged soils. Kang Kong has potential to become invasive if grown in open waterways, so it is best kept contained in a pot or pond.

Sow
Plant this one in a pot and then put the pot into a container of water until germination, then it can be transferred into your pond or left in the pot. Keep the pot filled with water.

Sow direct in Spring or Summer, planting at 5mm depth. Space plants at 30cm and keep 50cm between rows.
