Indian River tomato was released in 1958 by the Florida Agricultural Experimental Station as a selection from a natural cross between Manalucie and Manalee. It has since become rare in cultivation and is never seen in supermarkets. Help bring it back from the brink!

A climber to 1.5m producing round smooth red fruit to 10cm with thick firm flesh. Produces heavily. Adaptable to most soils.

Prefers full sun in moist, well-draining soil.

Sow
Sow direct or raise seedlings in late Winter, Spring or early Summer for Temperate climates or all year round in the Tropics. Planting seeds at a depth of 5mm with 50cm plant spacing and 70cm row spacing.

Keep soil moist, not wet.
