BEETROOT BULLS BLOOD – BABY BEETROOTS WITH A SUPERB FLAVOUR – IN ONLY 50 DAYS!!! $1.99

GREAT FOR SALAD LEAVES AND FOR THE BEETROOTS! BULLS BLOOD BEETROOTS – A VERY LOVELY DEEP RED SHADE – PERFECT FOR INTERPLANTING WITH YOUR OTHER PLANTS!

Description
Wonderful and amazing looking dual purpose beet! HEIRLOOM. Bull’s Blood has the reddest foliage I have ever seen. The earliest thinnings spark up salads with a leaf colour as richly dark red as radicchio. As the roots enlarge, the baby beets are also delicious cooked and mixed with salad. The small sweet red roots are best when harvested young.

EACH SEED POD CARRIES 3 TO 4 SEEDS WITHIN IT, MEDUM SIZED, EASY TO SEE AND HANDLE. PLANT THE WHOLE CAPSULE. MID BROWN, ROUGH, ROUND, EASY TO SEE AND HANDLE.

Grow Notes
Plant seeds in moist well drained soils during Spring, Summer and Autumn. Avoid planting in extremely hot or cold weather which can affect germination and growth. Grown in full sun.

Young seedlings will need protection from pests, pets and weather until they are established.

Sow
Sow direct at 15mm depth. Space plants at 10cm with 50cm rows. Beetroot seeds are clustered together with each cork-like fruit containing two or three seeds.

Keep soil moist but never wet or dry.

Once germinated, thin out early to avoid root disturbance. Use the first thinning as salad leaf, the next as baby beets then let the rest mature on.

Germination
5-10 days at 10-30°C

Maturity
35 days for baby leaf or 55 days for Beets. Hardy Biennial but usually grown as an Annual.
