MULBERRY WHITE FRUITS TWICE A YEAR! SWEET AND SUCCULENT! NO STAINING! $2.30 $2.10

BIRDS DON’T THINK IT’S RIPE SO LEAVE THEM ALONE!  THE MOST SUCCULENT FRUITS AND SOMETHING EVERY KID DREAMS ABOUT – MULBERRY SEASON! I HAVE SO MANY HAPPY MEMORIES SITTING IN THE BOUGHS OF A MULBERRY TREE AND PICKING OFF THE SWEET BERRIES AND EATING THEM UNTIL I HAD BRIGHT PINK HANDS AND FACE BUT THIS WHITE ONE IS STAINLESS! NO MORE RED DRIVEWAYS AND PATHS FROM FALLEN FRUIT!

Growth Habit: The mulberry is an attractive, fast-growing, medium to large tree that can grow to 8-15m in height.

Mulberry Trees produce pollen for bees!

Foliage/Flowers: The heart-shaped, lime green leaves are 10-20 cm long and 6-10 cm broad. Mulberries are deciduous, loosing their leaves over the cooler months. Trees are self-fertile, so only one tree is needed to produce fruit. Trees begin to bear fruit at a very young age.

Pruning: Pruning of these vigorous trees after fruiting is recommended to keep them at a size where you can easily harvest the fruit.

Pests and diseases: Mulberries are hardy and not prone to problems – the most common problem though is birds getting to the fruit before you do! As mulberries crop so heavily there is often plenty to share with the local wildlife anyway. Picking fruit regularly and early (before it is fully ripe) can help beat the birds but they tend not to think these white ones are ripe so generally leave them alone!

Harvest: Mulberries are ready to harvest at any stage when the berry plumps up. Fruits ripen up gradually over a long period of time, so multiple harvests are necessary. The harvest time frame is between September and November.

AROUND 10 SEEDS, SMALL AND LIGHT. AN IDEA IS TO GET THEM OUT WITH A TEASPOON WHEN PLANTING. IT GIVES YOU MUCH MORE CONTROL.

Grow Notes
Prefers full sun, they will grow well in just about any climatic condition, in a wide variety of soils.

Mulberries don’t need irrigating once they are mature – save your water for a fruit tree that needs it! However, if your tree is in a pot, it will need some water regularly!

Sow
Soak in water for 24 hours.

Dampen a piece of paper towel with water. Put the seeds on and fold over, place in plastic resealable bag and place them in the refrigerator for 60-100 days for stratification.

Raise seedlings in Spring or Summer, by planting seeds just under the soil surface and placing in a warm, well lit area.

Keep soil moist, not wet.

10-14 days at 20-35°C
