Tobacco plant, Nicotiana, is a popular summer bedding plant, coming in a range of colours and sizes. The trumpet-like, night-scented flowers make tobacco plant a great choice for planting near a seating area. Some varieties also attract moths.

Tobacco plant is perfect for growing in a mixed border or container display,and are easy to grow from seed. Many varieties make excellent cut flowers.

Can be sown in early Spring ready to flower in summer. Start your half-hardy annuals in a tray or pots then acclimatise them to life outdoors before planting out in their final position.

Grow Notes
Prefers full to part sun with fertile, well-drained soil.

Sow
Raise seedlings by placing seeds on seed raising mix and pressing gently. Do not cover as light aids germination.

Keep soil moist, not wet.

Harden-off and transplant out after last frost.
